What We Have Here is a Failure to Communicate... On the Internet

Don't do it, Obama. Seriously. Don't even think about it. There is no appropriate excuse for this and being one who absolutely requires the Internet not only for work but to spread my anti-propaganda propaganda, I'm completely disappointed in this suggestion.

1984 kicks ASS!! Not.

How's this from Virginia's Star Exponent?

According to news reports, two Senate bills — S. 773 and S. 778 — “would grant the White House sweeping new powers to access private online data, regulate the cybersecurity industry and even shut down Internet traffic during a declared “‘cyber emergency.’”

Both are part of what’s being called the “Cybersecurity Act of 2009.”The act would create a new bureaucracy, the “Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor,”which would be charged with “defending the country from cyber attack”... and would report directly to Barack Obama.

It would also grant the secretary of commerce access to all privately owned information networks deemed to be “critical” to the nation’s infrastructure, “without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule or policy restricting such access.”

Did you read that? The secretary of commerce, reporting directly to Mr. Obama, would be able to snoop through anything connected to the Internet that a president decides is “critical” to look at.

And it doesn’t matter what the law says — they get to do this whenever and wherever a president wants them to.

And here I thought George Bush was a tool intent on taking a long hard piss on the Constitution? Oh well, fooled again I guess.

In other WTF OMGObama news, I find it absolutely hilarious that he is "alienating" the leftists with his support of FISA (illegal wiretaps begun under that evil Bush, bad bad bad... wait wtf? This guy is worse!) - what, did you think that we could usher in Socialism without the state needing to keep an eye on all its little kiddies? Ha! You guys need to put down the dope, seriously, you're just as bad as the powers that be!

Via WaPo last year (in case you didn't know where our fearless leader stood on the issue):

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) today announced his support for a sweeping intelligence surveillance law that has been heavily denounced by the liberal activists who have fueled the financial engines of his presidential campaign.

In his most substantive break with the Democratic Party's base since becoming the presumptive nominee, Obama declared he will support the bill when it comes to a Senate vote, likely next week, despite misgivings about legal provisions for telecommunications corporations that cooperated with the Bush administration's warrantless surveillance program of suspected terrorists.

Oh this freaking dude is a winner, a WINNER.

I believe we know who the real terrorists are but I will certainly not say as much since it might be considered an act of terrorism. God bless America!! Anyone know what time the bread line opens up?

Jr Deputy Accountant

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
