Did you hear? I did the Fed!

Well kids, JDA is nearing her year anniversary (can you believe I've been at this for a year?) and in honor of that momentous occasion, I've decided to take the advice of my Twitter friend @cmbnova and do a series of (likely weekly) in-depth posts on the individual Fed Presidents. You know, the stuff that makes them tick, the experiences that shaped their views, their all-important backgrounds and, naturally, where they stand now on monetary policy and that tricky Fed exit strategy.

We'll start from the top and work our way down the JDA "Favorite Fedheads" list, possibly ignoring Janet Yellen altogether when we get to the bottom.

So before I jump into this fun little project, anything in particular you'd like to see? No one say "Jeffrey Lacker bitchslapping Janet Yellen" because trust me, I've tried to appeal to Richmond Fed's fearless leader repeatedly and he still won't take my calls. Oh well. Don't say I didn't try.

Anyway, as always, loyal JDA readers are encouraged to yell at me with any suggestions, I think you know how to get to me at this point.

Stay tuned!

Jr Deputy Accountant

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.

Happy Anniversary.

I'm not sure if this is a FED question, but I haven't seen any information about California buying back the IOUs they issued.

In other words, the Oct. 2nd buyback date came and went with no news about their ability to do so.

I know they are already underwater despite the loans they recieved, but the news never said whether or not those loans went to pay off the IOUs they issued, amongst other things.

Any insights on this subject?

Hey Anon,

I haven't heard about IOUs either - since I stay the hell out of the banks when I can I haven't noticed anything lately but I did see some stuff in a Wells Fargo about not accepting them and whathaveyou.

I'll dig and post tonight or tomorrow on this just for you. :)
