Senate Banking Committee Gives Bernanke the Green Light on a Second Term
The Senate Banking Committee on Thursday approved the nomination of Federal Reserve Board chairman Ben Bernanke to a second four-year term. The debate prior to the vote was contentious. Several Senators complained that the Fed had not provided information they requested prior to the vote. In the end, 16 Senators supported Bernanke while seven members opposed the nomination. Analysts expect a close vote on the Senate floor after the holiday recess.
Listen, Santa Claus, I know I haven't believed in you since about 1984 but I need to ask a huge favor. I've been an exceptionally good girl this year (forget about the potty mouth, please) and since I already have a Nintendo and an Xbox, I don't have anything on my list except a miracle. Can you maybe intervene here? All I want for Christmas is for this asshat to go away.
Oh well. Fat chance but a girl can dream, eh?
Here's to four more years of Jr Deputy Accountant up your ass, Bernanke, hope you're OK with your nuts in my vice in the meantime.
