According to Obama White House, Obama Stimulus is a Success

Nothing happens by accident
now bend over, motherf^%&er

I can't stop laughing long enough to get this typed out. Seriously.

President Barack Obama's $787 billion stimulus prevented another Great Depression while creating or preserving 2 million jobs, according to a White House report to be released on Wednesday.

The report, signed by Vice President Joe Biden who oversees how stimulus money is spent, stressed the depth of the crisis confronting Obama when he took office 13 months ago, as the President constantly reminds Americans in his speeches. [Reuters sounds a tad bitter and frankly so is JDA. Enough already. Bush gave you the short end of the stick. We were in a fucking mess. Blah blah blah]

But it also highlighted Obama's challenge of trying to cut a 9.7 percent jobless rate that has fueled voter discontent.

The report said the package of stimulus spending and tax cuts "clearly halted an economic freefall." Obama will get the document at his economic intelligence briefing on Wednesday and he will speak about the economy to mark the anniversary of his signing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act at 10.25 a.m. (1525 GMT).

Wait for it. Only 6% of Americans believe in that "jobs saved or created" crap. Good for you, America, glad to see you turned off the TV and picked up a fucking newspaper. Unless Glenn Beck told you to say that, in which case you need to go sit in the corner and think about what you did.

A survey last week showed he is also battling a public perception that the stimulus package has created few jobs.

The CBS/New York Times poll found that only 6 percent of Americans believed the $787 billion package had created jobs. Another poll by CNN/Opinion Research Corporation showed a majority opposed the stimulus program.

But I thought the Stimulus was such an excellent waste use of taxpayer money that we don't have?

Like the $2 billion light rail project in California that will get you to SF from LA in two hours? Meanwhile, SF Municipal Rail is facing the largest budget crisis it has seen in decades (if ever, I'm being dramatic, not scientific) and forced to raise fares for a third time in less than a year. THREE TIMES, you fuckers, that ain't cheap. But who cares about getting your kid to school or getting to work on the Muni when you can experience the wonder of a Stimulus-funded light rail across California?

Fuck you.

No seriously, fuck you, and I mean that in the most general sense as in fuck all of you.

So what good will this light rail speeding down South do us if a one-way trip from my house to the depot is $97 on Muni and I don't have a job to pay for it, eh, smartie pants?

Yeah that's what I thought. Well when the unwashed masses get pissed and boycott Muni into submission, maybe all the newly unemployed Muni drivers can get jobs as high-speed rail track layers? Saved or created LOL how about vaporized? Where is that word in the White House's vernacular? Because they're suffocating jobs as we speak and don't even realize it.

Poor bastards. I

In the “same shit, different state” file:

Metro St. Louis light rail and bus service is facing cuts in service and fare hikes for local transit while funding seems headed for approval for rail service between St. Louis and Chicago. My thought: for a country that has had its priorities fucked up for quite a while, this is par for the course. Also, I believe this is a generational phenomenon. It is typical for the baby boomer generation (which is the generation in charge at the moment) to get caught up in glitz while it ignores day to day needs and long term thinking. I’d have to give them points for consistency. Remember all you kids in the 15-20 year old range what you are seeing today. I’m guessing precious few of them are reading JDA, but in the hope that they are putting this shit in the memory banks I will say this to them: when these idiots are in their 70’s and 80’s (which is right around the corner) there will be no shame in throwing these morons under the bus. They know the price of everything but the value of nothing.
