Prop 8 Judge to Rule on Whether Gay Marriages Will Be Allowed During Appeals Process

As we all know, it's going to be a long ass process. Judge Vaughn Walker is due to decide today whether same-sex couples will be allowed to take their marriage vows while Prop 8 hits appeals court or if his stay continues, leaving same-sex couples to wait out the next steps in the process.

SF Gate:

"We are optimistic that the judge will lift this stay," said Geoff Kors, executive director of Equality California, one of the driving forces that fought to overturn Prop. 8.

"Judge Walker should remember he is a district court judge, the first rung on the ladder, and leave the stay in place," said Douglas Napier, an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund who argued for the ban.

Anyone want an ice cream while you wait?

(I will disclaim ONCE AGAIN since I tried posting this video before that it is NOT SAFE FOR WORK or really safe to watch at all unless you're into naked boys licking lollypops. Since I am an 80% straight female, I am totally allowed to watch this and absolutely allowed to enjoy it. Do not partake if you are a 60 - 90% straight male with insecurities about your sexual preference. You've been warned. Again.)

For the record (as if I have to even say this), I am 100% for gay marriage as it's cleaner than the regular old kind that usually ends up in kids no one wants, bitchfighting and lots and lots of money funneled to the always-booming divorce lawyer business. The sad part is that some of the smartest folks I know are gay, too bad THEY aren't the ones squeezing out 3 or 4 kids at a pop.
